What to Expect

Dr Kelly Xray

No matter whether it’s your first visit, or your hundredth visit, our Chiropractic Assistants (CA’s) will welcome you when arriving at our clinic and provide you with fantastic service. If there is ever anything we can do to further assist during your time at our office, please ask anyone on our team.

First Visit (allow up to 40 minutes)

You’ll be greeted warmly when you enter our welcoming office.

Paperwork

– You will be asked to complete a health history questionnaire, which you can either complete in the clinic, or download from our website here. Your chiropractic doctor will use this information to help understand your specific health concerns.

Consultation

– Your health history will be thoroughly reviewed and discussed through a series of one-on-one questions. The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

Examination

– A comprehensive Chiropractic, orthopaedic, neurological and postural assessment will be done and a thorough muscle assessment will be performed to assess the health of your spine and nerves. If we find you need x-rays, we’ll provide you with a free referral to a radiography centre close to the clinic.

Second Visit (allow up to 30 minutes)

After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings, we’ll make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health. This is usually attended to on your second visit. This two-visit approach accomplishes several things; reduces the length of your first visit, gives us time to correlate our findings, and avoids overloading you with too much information.

Reporting on Findings

– During this visit your chiropractor will have closely examined your x-rays and examination findings. They will go through these findings with you, thoroughly explaining and discussing the findings and then providing you with an individualised care plan. At this stage you will then be in an informed position to commence with care, should you decide to do so. An adjustment can be performed at this time if you decide to proceed.

In certain situations, and in the professional judgment of our chiropractors, we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation.

Regular Visit

After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. Don’t stress. A typical office visit may require just five to ten minutes. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value!

With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and you can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.

We recognize your time is valuable. So we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.

For great health, our bodies require a nervous system that’s functioning at its best. The nervous system acts as a communication device between parts of the body, but physical or psychological stresses caused by general day-to-day activity make it prone to dysfunction. When that occurs, and communication between areas of the body is prevented, we experience discomfort, pain, and other distressing health issues.
